Book Report Gulliver’s Travel

Major places that this novel took place are in the Country of Lilliput and Brobdingnag, the land of the giants. Major Characters:  Give a brief description of each character. 1. Lemuel Gulliver He is a doctor who works in the ship.

He is such an adaptable people, he is able to deal with his new situation in new place such as in Lilliput, the country of small people or in Brobdingnag, the land of giants. He is helpful enough , he helps Lilliput to win a war over Blefuscu. He treats people nicely, he is such a friendly. 2. Glumdalclitch She is 9 years old. She is very nice and really kind, she looks after Gulliver and she is willing to be her nurse. 3. The Farmer (Glumdalclitch’s Father) He is a farmer in Brobdingnag. He really greedy, he tells Gulliver to work harder and harder so he can get much money for himself.

He is such an evil because he makes Gulliver as a plaything. 4. The Emperor of Lilliput He can’t keep his word, he promises to Gulliver that he would release him but the Emperor keeps postponing it. He never satisfied, when Gulliver helps him to win the war over Blefuscu, he keeps wanting more and more Blefuscu’s warship from Gulliver. Summary: Have you ever been to strange place? Or somewhere when you don’t belong to there? It just happens to Lemuel Gulliver. He is a doctor. Someday a captain asks him to be a doctor in his ship, Gulliver accepts it. So he sails with Antelope, the name of the ship.

Unfortunately the ship brokes in two because it hits a rock. Gulliver manages to survive, he swims to the shore. He falls asleep because he is too tired. When he awakes, he finds that his body is tied. He becomes six-inch-high people’s prisoner. Gulliver is in the country of Lilliput, the country of small people. Everything is so beautiful and very small. The tallest trees are only 7 feets high. The people in Blesfucu are going to wage a war on Lilliput. The Emperor is so worried about that, so Gulliver lends a hand to Lilliput. With his idea, Gulliver can pull fifty Blesfucu’s warship behind him and pulls them back to Lilliput.

The Emperor is pleased, but he tells Gulliver to fetch more ship. Gulliver refuses it. Gulliver is angry and decides to go to Blesfucu and live there. So, he swims and pulls all ship behind him to Blesfucu. The Emperor of Blesfucu and Gulliver manage to be good friends. With the help of Blesfucu people, Gulliver can go back to England. It just takes two months for Gulliver to stay with his family before he decides to go on another voyage. Gulliver never seems so lucky with sailing. The strong wind blows his ship, and it is lost. If in the past Gulliver found a place full of small people, now he finds a place full of giants.

Everything is so huge, the grass as high as Gulliver’s head. A giant catchs Gulliver and takes Gulliver to his master, a farmer in Brodingnag, land of giants. The farmer tells his daughter Glumdalclitch to look after Gulliver. The farmer keeps Gulliver in the box and takes him to the town. The farmer and all the giants make him such as plaything, because Gulliver’s size was so small. From the town, thir show moves to capital city, it is because the farmer’s greed. The faremer bacames rich people, soon he sells Gulliver to the Queen. Glumdalclitch stays as his nurse. She is still loking after Gulliver and taking care of him.

Gulliver lives in Brobdingnag for two years. Many things happen. One day King and Queen go on a long journey and they take Gulliver with them, he is carried in his box. They stayed in a city near the sea. A servant picks up Gulliver’s box and takes it to the sea shore, because Gulliver asks him to do that. Gulliver is sleeping. When he awakes, he is realized that an eagle is holding the box with its beak and flies. The eagle drops the box into the sea. After a few hours, fortunately, the box strucks a ship. The ship’s carpenter makes a hole in the top of the box, so Gulliver can get out of there and climb to the ship.

The ship is heading to England. It takes a few months to go back to England, but finally Gulliver can meet his wife and his family. What is (are) the major conflict(s) in the story? The main conflict of is how Gulliver to be adaptable and survive in strange world where he is the minor of that world. How does the story end ? The story ends happily. Gulliver can back home to England and reunite again with his wife and his family after two years apart. What is the theme of the book? The theme of the novel is A minor should follow the major. You can’t act carelessly when you are a minor, because the major have their power.

But even if you are a minor, you still can manage your survival if you have enough patient and do the right acts. Do you like the book? Why or Why not? I like the book. First because it is abridged. The words in this novel is easy to understand and the story is interesting for me. It’s about someone who trapped in the strange world but managed to survive, I think it’s kind of inspiring me to survive as a minor in society.
